It appears Blogger compresses images pretty heavily.  My photos aren’t looking as sharp as they do in Photoshop or in print.  I guess I’ll have to increase web sharpening before posting in the future.  I’ll be sure to update the current photos when I return from Texas.  Stay tuned!

I’m off to Texas tomorrow!  I’ll be in Austin visiting my best friend and her husband.  It’s a bitter sweet vacation, though.  While I am beyond excited to get away for a few days, I know I’m going to be hurting, missing my boys.  I’ve never been away from my son.  How will I cope?  And although Brandon has been deployed for months at a time, being apart from him never gets easier.  I’ll do my best to manage.  Good thing I’ll be around someone who knows the rythmn of my heart even better than I do!  My BFF and I date back to Kindergarten!

I’ll be back Monday, but while I’m gone, I won’t be checking my business email or Facebook page.  No worries, though– I’ll be sure to get back to everyone ASAP.

Happy Memorial Day, everyone!  Let’s celebrate our troops– past and present.  Their sacrifices are endless and often under-appreciated.  Don’t forget to thank them this holiday weekend :)

xo,
Alicia

Tuesday I headed back out to Orange County for a session with a gorgeous set of siblings.  We set up in their parents’ backyard, which also happens to be a golf course (hence the pun in the title.  Hey, I try!).  Luckily we weren’t the unintentional targets of any stray golf balls.  This family was so nice to work with.  Great personalities and beautiful, too!   Here’s one of the few shots I’ve worked on so far.   Hopefully Mom and Dad like the final product (a surprise Christmas gift from their kids)!  Thanks for asking me to be a part of the fun, Meghann!

Several weeks ago a former co-worker contacted me about photographing her daughter’s baptism.  They attend Faith Bible Church in Ladera Ranch.  I had the chance to meet the church body on Sunday and be a part of a special day of baptisms.  Everyone was awesome– so friendly, warm, and welcoming.  I got a few shots during service and then followed everyone to a member’s beautiful home for a wonderful luncheon and then the baptisms.  I had a great time and will be working on editing the photos for the next week or so.  Here’s a little sneak peek for the S family.  Thanks for inviting me to be a part of your joyous day!  Enjoy!

This past Saturday my little brother attended prom with Tahquitz High School in Hemet, CA.  It was exactly 10 years and 2 days since my own prom.  Eeks!  The flashbacks made me feel old, but it was when I got teary eyed that I really felt like an old lady.  I said to the date’s mom, “Aww, my little boy’s going to prom!”  Of course, Javier’s not my little boy, but it sure feels like it.  He’s pretty much my favorite person in the entire world.  I’m so proud of the man he’s becoming.  I’m happy to announce he had an AMAZING time at the dance, especially since our cousin was named Prom King!  Way to go, Josh!
Here are a couple snapshots I got before the kids had to rush off to meet their friends.
