I love that my photography business has allowed me to catch up with old friends, schoolmates, and people from my past. Amy contacted me about photographing her wedding and I didn’t hesitate to say yes. We went to high school together (along with her fiance Ricardo) and she was always such a sweetheart, so bubbly and happy. I met with her and Ricardo in Balboa Park for an engagement session and we had a blast! It was so fun catching up and laughing. I’ve come out of my shell quite a bit since my teenage years and it’s always amazing to me how much more comfortable I am around my peers (funny how that makes life more enjoyable, huh?). I never got to know Ricardo in high school but it turns out we get along great, just like Amy and I do. I’m so excited for their wedding next month and am thrilled for these two. They’re very much in love and so darn cute together
Without further ado, here are some shots from last weekend. Enjoy, guys! I can’t wait for the wedding!
xo,

Is there anything more precious than a newborn baby? Probably not, but PHOTOS of newborn babies are pretty sweet, too.
Saturday I met baby Emily, who wasn’t such a big fan of sleep. She preferred to eat and look around, exploring what she could from her mom’s arms. A little patience paid off, though, and we managed to soothe her into a few decent slumbers. Emily loved curling up her little hands and resisted my attempts to show off those cute newborn fingers. She sure is strong for an itty bitty baby girl– but not as strong as she is beautiful. Congrats Karen and Chris on your perfect little angel

I must first give Jennifer some kudos for organizing her family for this session. She didn’t have the task of rounding up just a few folks– she had 10 people to coordinate with! She did a great job getting everyone to arrive at Balboa Park by 8am on a Sunday. I’ll admit I prepared for a less than smooth process. Turns out everyone was on time and in a great mood! How often does that happen? I can’t even get my son and husband out of the door without a minor meltdown. Jennifer’s family on the otherhand was efficient and so fun! I expected the fun part since I went to high school with Jennifer and had met her family several times (her dad’s voice was like a sonic boom when he cheered on our volleyball team). I had such a great time chatting and catching up throughout the morning. This family is the definition of love and truly are the best of friends– not just relatives. They really are an amazing group. I could go on about their awesomeness, but I don’t want to embarrass them too much
Here are a few favorites from their session. I hope you enjoy!
p.s. please pardon my apparent obsession with shooting in “portrait” orientation

How cute are dad and mom? They’ve been married 28 years so I thought this was too perfect to pass up

“How you doin’?” They are adorable!
Baby Zita is the star of this family

Everyone loves Jo!
Newly engaged and so sweet.
And because every post needs a black and white image

Caution– the following photos may cause extreme baby fever! At just six days old, baby Deagon was absolutely precious. You really forget how tiny newborns are until you’re holding one in your arms again.
Enjoy this little sneak peek. He is too cute! I could cuddle him all day

I finally got a chance to meet up with a friend of mine and her kids for some “spring” pictures a few days ago. Crazy weather had forced us to rechedule a few times, and mother nature proved to be against our plans yet again when it started raining at our session. We can’t catch a break! But I did manage to catch some great shots of these cuties before we scurried to our cars. Mom chose an informal setting since her kids are pros at flashing super unauthentic smiles when put in front of a camera. Lucky for me it’s hard for kids not to have a good time at the park, even when the weather takes a turn for the worse.
Here are a few of my little buddies
Enjoy this sneak peek– I’m sure there will be another coming sometime soon as I’m sure mom won’t protest to me requesting a do-over

And because I’m a sucker for black & whites and candid moments…
