Meet sweet little Miss Haley. At 15 days old she slept like a champ and was as perfect as can be. Dad was serving overseas in Afghanistan when we had our session together but I’m happy to report this amazing family will soon be together again. One of these photos even appeared on a huge vinyl banner hanging in our neighborhood welcoming Dad home!
Thank you M family for choosing me to photograph your baby girl. I really love this session

Clearly I need to get my head back in the blog game. I really miss updating everyone on all the fabulous sessions I’m doing. Luckily my husband’s deployment is nearly over and I *hope* to have more time on my hands, which will mean getting back on track with blogging.
For now, here’s a session I shot last fall with the gorgeous gal behind Becki Cloud Photography. Now that her new baby is almost in high school (kidding, he’s 3 months old today), I figured it was time to finally share these amazing shots. Becki chose this location in Riverside and it was just lovely. I had a great time hanging out with her and her boys and it was SO nice meeting her after being Facebook friends for almost 2 years

With spring just around the corner, there’s sure to be lots of newborn babies making their debut. I wanted to share this session for a few reasons; 1, baby Ella is so stinkin’ cute. And 2, this is a good representation of what to expect from your own in-home newborn session. A little bit of lifestyle, a little bit of pretty posed shots– and a whole lotta love
Thank you to Ella’s mom and dad for welcoming me into their home and for also allowing me to photograph their baby girl just a few weeks ago for Valentine’s Day. This little lady is getting even more beautiful by the day. Uh oh, dad!

I just love, love photographing maternity sessions. In my opinion, there is no more intense way to love someone than to have a child with that person. During maternity sessions I get to witness couples on the cusp of an event that will change their lives forever. It’s exciting, it’s overwhelming, it’s beautiful. The images produced capture two people in a vulnerable time when they’re experiencing a hundred emotions each day– all leading up to the arrival of a child that will teach them a brand new meaning of love.
I had a wonderful time photographing Amy in San Clemente and will admit to being pretty jealous of how great she looked 8 months pregnant
Here are a few of my favorites…

My favorite newborn sessions are the ones where I feel like I’m taking a peek into a family’s life for a few hours. It’s business as usual, only I’m there to document it with my camera. The hugs and kisses, the sweet little details– even the dirty diapers and sometimes fits of crying. That’s real life, right? It’s fresh and new and wonderful and it deserves to be remembered just the way it is. That’s how I want to approach newborn sessions in 2013. I want to be invited into your home to share just a small moment of your history as a family.
This is a session I shot a few months ago with a sweet little family that just happened to include one very crafty mama. She decorated baby Emily’s nursery all on her own and made almost every element you see pictured, from the curtains and wall art, to crib bedding and the mobile. I was super impressed and there’s no denying all her hard work paid off because these photos are simply darling.
Here’s a little peak into the time I spent with the R family at their home, and finished up at a local outdoor location with an amazing fall sunset. Enjoy!
