I’m excited to share that I’m partnering with IN S.T.E.P.P.S. in Irvine for a fun family photo event this coming Saturday, June 11th. IN S.T.E.P.P.S. is an agency that uses ground-breaking therapy techniques to help individuals with developmental disabilities. I strongly encourage you to visit their website for more information about their services. This specific event is open to IN S.T.E.P.P.S. clients AND anyone else who needs new family portraits (couples, pets, maternity– all types of sessions are available). I’ll be offering only ONE other mini-session event this summer so this is a great opportunity to support a wonderful organization and update your walls at home
Check out our flier for the details. I know there are only a couple of spots left, so act fast and give IN S.T.E.P.P.S. a call today. Let me know if you have any questions!

We have a winner for our free session contest! Instead of using a random number generator, I decided to let my 18 month old draw the winning name. I thought it was much more exciting this way. I wrote every name down on paper, cut them into slips and put them into a bowl. My son did a great job and pulled out ONE slip. How about the amazing quality of these photos?!? LOL. I was lazy last night and opted for my cell phone rather than my bohemouth Canon. I promise not to use my phone to shoot your sessions though, promise!
We had 45 entries…

And the winner is…

Congrats, Kari Winship! To claim your free session, please email me at info@aliciaqphotography.com! I can’t wait to hear from you!
And thank you EVERYONE for participating! This was sooo fun and we’ll be sure to do it again soon! Be sure to leave a comment with your ideas for our next contest!

I just wanted to share a photo I snapped during P & S’ engagement shoot (here) last weekend. For some time now I’ve been really fascinated with birds. Yes, birds. I’m not quite sure where this interest stemmed from, but it’s there anyhow (and somewhat of a secret, shhh!). This photo isn’t edited much at all and I plan to hang it in my hallway. I’m excited to showcase some non-portrait work in my home finally
Thanks for taking a peek.
xo,
Alicia Q.

I intended to blog about this year’s Air Show a couple of weeks ago, but it’s been so hectic around my house that I’m just getting to it now. So, here it is
My mom used to take me to the Miramar Air Show when I was a kid, back when the air station belonged to the Navy (think “Top Gun”). It was a family tradition, although most of the time it was just my mom and I. My dad was usually working and my brother preferred to sleep in rather than look at military aircraft and watch the Blue Angels. They missed out on a lot of good memories. It was something I waited for every year. My mom instilled in me a love of all things military and patriotic. Is it any wonder I ended up with a U.S. Marine?
Unfortunately, my relationship with my mother isn’t what it used to be, but I wanted to continue the same family tradition with my son. Last year I was just days away from giving birth, so I missed the show. But this year it just so happened my mother-in-law was in town visiting the same weekend. Of course we headed out to Miramar to take in the sights– and heat. It is always SO hot on that tarmac! But it is ALWAYS worth it
Here are some of my favorite shots from the day. I still get goosebumps when I see the jets flying over the 15 freeway and I’ll cherish these photos for a lifetime. I can’t wait until I get to show my son these one day. I hope they’ll refresh his childhood memories like they do mine.

Over Labor Day weekend I ventured off to Boston for a baby shower. Sure, that’s a long way to travel for a party, but the trip’s purpose was to see a dear friend who moved away more than two years ago. Since then he’s gotten married to a beautiful woman and they are now expecting a baby boy in December. I am so happy for William and Liz. They are going to be amazing parents and I can’t wait to meet their perfect little boy!
During my little vacation I took advantage of some alone time to explore the sights and sounds of Boston and the surrounding areas.
Here is a VERY SMALL and LIMITED selection of some photos I took during my adventures. There are more to come and I’ll post once I find some more time.
Enjoy!
