The more I shoot weddings in North Carolina, the more I fall in love with my job. I’ve met some of the most wonderful people here and I’ve been exposed to beautiful venues in adorable towns.

I was really excited when BJ contacted me about photographing his and Jenn’s wedding because it was at a location new to me– The Matthews House, a 1915 historic home in Cary, NC. OK, first, I have to to say I actually thought BJ’s voicemail was a scam because grooms never contact me! LOL. But when we chatted, I learned they were planning their wedding in only a couple of months so it would coordinate with Jenn’s brother’s military schedule. Obviously that tugged at my heart strings, but it was a testament to the importance of family and I knew I’d be a good fit for them.

Just like with every wedding I shoot, my favorite images captured are those that portray genuine joy, images that make you feel something. I don’t think there are a shortage of emotive photos from Jenn and BJ’s wedding. They were embraced in love and smiles were everywhere. I had a camera in my hands and a big, full heart!
