Kendall + Bailey | Couples Session | Jacksonville NC Wedding Photographer

Engagements

post filed in:

You know what I love about summer here in North Carolina? Rain storms. No, really. I love the downpours and thunder and lightning. It can be problematic as a Jacksonville NC Wedding Photographer, but most days are just so hot and humid and a storm brings welcomed relief from the heat, even if it’s minimal. I love how the air picks up and the breeze becomes cool (ever-so-slightly). The sound of thunder and water splashing everywhere is comforting. It’s something we didn’t get a lot of in California but something I’ve learned to really appreciate.

Summer storms have an added bonus, too. The dramatic skies look pretty awesome in photos. A couple of weeks ago I photographed Kendall and Bailey but we had to cut our session short when a massive storm rolled in. We made it to our cars just in time because within minutes, streets were flooded. It’s probably the heaviest rain I’ve seen since living in NC. It was pretty awesome. Well, except for the part where the neighbor’s trampoline blew through the air like Dorothy’s house and landed in the road in front of me on the way home. Luckily I have cat-like driving reflexes and I’m alive today to share these images. Death-by-trampoline would have been a real bummer. And it would have prevented me from shooting the second part of Kendall and Bailey’s session a few days later once the weather cleared up. You know, I’m starting to think some things are just meant to be 🙂

I hope y’all enjoy these photos, and since I’m blogging this session as a part of this month’s Blog Cirlcle, you get to see a bunch more awesomeness. First, head on over to San Diego Photographer Alicia Jeanne Photography (that’s a great name!) to check out her take on this month’s “summer” theme. Make sure you click on the link she provides and keep on clicking until you make it back here!

Thanks for playing, y’all! I hope everyone is having an incredible summer!
