I want to welcome everyone to a new year, a new start, a new way of living. With the drop of a ball, we all resolve to do better, to be better. I’ve set plenty of goals for 2012. One of which is to complete a 52 week project documenting this nice little life I’ve been building. Last year I embarked on a 365 day photo project that ended with an epic fail. I lasted less than a week. A more realistic option for me is this Project 52 which I’ll be participating in with weekly prompts provided by My Four Hens Photography.
The first week’s assignment was Resolutions. Like I said, I have many, but perhaps one of the most important is to be a better mother. I want to spend more time with my son. More time playing. More time loving and hugging, teaching and learning. I want to say “no” less and give more. And along the way I want to capture our time together in photos. Making a living as a photographer sometimes means I’m less willing to take simple snaps of my own family. That will change in 2012, too.
We started on New Year’s day with a walk along the Oceanside Pier and then we played in the sand for a bit. Here are a few shots of my beautiful boy, with the first being my official P52 photo…
