Once upon a time, I had no idea what a ‘bridal portrait session’ was. It’s true! They aren’t really a ‘thing’ in California! But when I moved to North Carolina, I quickly learned that no southern wedding is complete without a gorgeous portrait of the bride displayed regally at the reception. I love the tradition of these photos and the legacy they provide!
We shot Samantha’s bridal portraits at Greenfield Lake and in downtown Wilmington. I’m obsessed with the ethereal aesthetic by the water and the contrast of the images shot downtown in a picturesque, colonial alley. It all feels just so North Carolina! I think the last set of images are my favorite not just because they’re so dreamy, but because those falling petals were made possible by Samantha’s dad who shook a crepe myrtle tree ever so perfectly! Thanks, Mr. Futrell! And thank you, Mrs. Futrell, for the lovely bouquets and flower crown!
Samantha, you are stunning and like we agreed, a kindred spirit with a heart of gold, who I simply adore! I can’t wait to blog the wedding images so very soon!
And a special shout out to Beautiful Brides of Wilmington for the perfect gown and veil!
