Tonight I was flipping through channels on the television and saw that Pearl Harbor was on. Yes, the one with Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett (holy moly). Of course I had to watch for a few minutes and it happened to be the scene where Kate Beckinsale’s character is telling her girlfriends about her new love interest and that the last 14 days have been the most romantic ones of her life. I knew I would be finishing this blog post tonight so it got me to thinking, “Imagine a love where every day is the most romantic day of your life. Imagine a love like that– a love that bests itself every day.” Now, I don’t proclaim to be a relationship expert, but I can confidently say that a successful marriage is one that continually inspires you to love greater, stronger, and more passionately. And looking back on Jessica and Eric’s wedding at Aliso Viejo Country Club, I’m reminded of how lucky I am to photograph couples and families who embody that spirit of thriving, flourishing love. The way Jessica and Eric look at each other, the way they hold each other, the way their friends and family support and encourage them– it’s all a part of a love that will never stop growing. In fact, I’ll get the chance to photograph them again in a few months to show off a cute little baby bump that is further proof of that multiplying love. You see, some people don’t need Hollywood scripts to find a little romance. 🙂
