In July I had the honor of second-shooting this lovely wedding with Carey of Bellagracelynn Photography. Tucked back in the hills of Fallbrook, The Wedgewood at the Golf Club of California was the perfect backdrop for a summer celebration.
As a second-shooter, your job is to assist the photographer in whatever way he/she needs and to provide an additional point of view for the day. I love being able to capture moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. When I shoot weddings as the main photographer, I rely on my own second-shooters to be on the look-out for different angles and those subtle smiles I might miss. I really enjoy getting to play both roles in my life– and I especially enjoy sharing such a special day with clients, whether my own or not.
Here are some of my favorite shots from Kristen and Lawrence’s wedding day. Enjoy!
(p.s. If you’re interested in second-shooting weddings, I encourage you to be friendly with your local wedding photographers and to check out some helpful tips from Jasmine Star, Candice Benjamin and Neil van Niekerk.)
