When Crystal contacted me about shooting her wedding on New Year’s Eve, I jumped at the chance without hesitation.  First, let’s be real.  I’m a mom in my 30’s and the odds of me having amazing plans to ring in the New Year were slim to none. Spending the night celebrating Crystal and Trevor, their love and their faith seemed like a good alternative to watching television while my son slept.  My instincts were spot-on because this wedding was amazing.  And I’m not just talking about pretty details and a beautiful couple.  Love was simply abounding that night.  It was overflowing and contagious.  More than once Crystal was overcome with joyful, tearful gratitude.  She remarked that she and Trevor were so humbled to be surrounded by people who love them and people who helped bring their perfect wedding day to life.  I felt honored to be a part of it all.

And to address the elephant in the room, yes, I know there are “rules” that advise couples not to get married on a holiday, but to that I say, “Pshaw!”  This wedding was not only heartwarming and emotional, it was a celebration like none other! Counting down to midnight and ushering in the New Year with your favorite people lifting you in love and prayer is unmatched.  Can you think of a better New Year’s Eve party?  Nope.  And you’ll see why when you get through these images from their San Diego Country Club Wedding.

Crystal and Trevor, I am a better person for having met you and your family, and I’m surely not surprised that almost a year after your wedding you two are as in love as you were when you said those vows.  The world is lucky to have you.

xo,

Alicia Q.

A few weeks later, I met up with Trevor and Crystal in Balboa Park for more portraits.
